French Almond Macarons

February 18, 2012

My first try on making this French confection and I must say that it's a success!  I'm really fascinated (and drooling) whenever I see Ladurée's Macarons online. And since I haven't tried Ladurée's, I'm just making myself one.

I chose to use purple, yellow, and green colors for these lovely little cookies and filled them with chocolate ganache.

Next time I'll try on playing different macaron flavors (and with a much more perfect "foot").

February 11, 2012
The smell of my freshly baked Croissants is enough to jump start my day!  It's a gloomy Saturday morning, and I started kneading my dough the day before.  Making fresh croissants is really worth the effort (after a lot of folding, and rolling, and folding again, and rolling again..). Indeed a happy Saturday!

Cupcakes for Anika

September 29, 2011
I created a big batch of cupcakes for Anika Thea's 1st princess-themed birthday party.

Each cupcake is a double-dose of chocolate filled with melted chocolate kisses topped with vanilla-flavored frosting... Another sweet-tooth galore!

Cupcake Sunday

September 11, 2011

It was a lazy Sunday afternoon, the weather outside is humid, and there's nothing much to do at home.  I have no choice but to kill my boredom and flip some flour and chocolates and bake some yummy cupcakes.

Armed with my toppings collection (I use them mostly for pancakes) together with my Betty Crocker chocolate frosting, my cupcakes are ready to go!

And to give it some twist, I opt to place a piece of vanilla marshmallows in the center for it to melt while baking... and the results are good.
